Translations of “Token Economy” into Spanish, Farsi and Polish

Finished and upcoming translations

Thanks to the collaborative effort of so many volunteers the Spanish version has been finalized and is now fully available online on Github. The Farsi version is also in the final stages and partially online, and will be fully available within the next couple of weeks. The full text of the Polish version is also online, but some graphics and citations have not yet been translated yet since the original translator had to stop due to personal circumstances. If anyone is interested in conducting the final copy edit of the Polish version and translate the missing footnotes and graphics, please contact me.

I would like to use this opportunity to thank the amazing effort of all the contributors mentioned below. In the case of the Farsi and the Polish translation, I would like to issue a special thanks because in both cases the translation was almost entirely done by one person only, and in both cases it were women.

The Farsi version

Translated by Maliheh Mahdavi Sefat ملیحه مهدوی صفت, an exceptionally talented woman from Qom (Iran) who finished her degree in Robotics engineering after giving birth to her first child. While raising her children she improved her English, played with stock markets, failed at a few start ups (failing is better than not trying!) and got into blockchain and distributed ledgers. She is a studious life-long learner. Her greatest hobby is reading novels and watching futuristic movies and tv shows. The Polish version

Translated by Elwira Stadnik who is a certified translator, coach, behavioural and heuristic specialist, and lecturer with 18 years of experience. Her areas of linguistic expertise are: Legal, IT, Financial, Medical, UX analysis, Literature. She is a Web3 enthusiast or to put in in her own words: “I am a huge fan of blockchain technologies and Web 3.0 which I perceive as a gate to freedom from the current digital web-prison-like world.”

The Spanish version

Translated by a team of lawyers and crypto researchers in Argentina and Uruguay (Sebastián Heredia Querro, Martín Bertoni, Guido Aiassa, Fernanda López Pujato and Agustina Perez Comenale):

• Sebastián Heredia Querro is an Entrepreneur who studied law at the Jesuit Córdoba Catholic University (UCC). He has a Corporate Law Masters as well as a Masters’ degree on Finance. He was the first Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Centre at UCC, where he serves as Director of the Business Law LLM, of the Transactional Law postgrade course, and Co-Director of the D4T Program (a first-of-its-kind Diploma on AI and Web3 applications on FinTech, GovTech, RegTech & LegalTech). Sebastian is the Coordinator of the Smart Cities and Compliance & Business Ethics postgrade programs. He is the author of the book and e-book Smart Contracts: Qué son, para qué sirven y para qué no servirán (IJ Editores y Cathedra Jurídica, Bs. As., 2020), an open-source research proyect with more than 1.400 downloads on ResearchGate & Academia.edu. He is an invited scholar on Web3 & DLTs at several postgrad programs at Universidad Austral, Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, Universidad de San Andrés, ADEN Business School and Universidad Católica del Uruguy. He is the Co-Coordinator of the Inter-American Development Bank’s Lacchain GTL-Argentina, and a member of Stanford CodeX Center for Legal Informatics. As an Entrepreneur, during the last 10 years Sebastian has successfully co-founded six companies with operations in non-related sectors such as real estate, shale O&G logistics, healthtech and IDaaS/BaaS. He is a co-founder and CEO of Tokenize-IT, a LegalFinTech startup.
• Martín Bertoni currently serves as Secretary of Economic Affairs of the first private Jesuit university in Argentina, Universidad Católica de Córdoba (UCC). His passion for finance and his valuable experience in diverse areas related to accounting, finance and management, positioned him as an external consultant for several large local companies. He sees himself as a “teacher”, not because he is strictly an academic, much less an authority in the subjects on which he works, but rather because of the enormous enjoyment that sharing his expertise, knowledge and opinion awakens, guided by the conviction that learning is always a collective process. Martin works as finance professor at the ICDA Business School at UCC, where he teaches corporate finance and valuation courses in the MBA, in the Corporate Finance Postgraduate Course, in the LLM, and in the MAcc programs. Martin’s research and interests lie in valuation, portfolio management, applied corporate finance, behavioral finance, and technology-native business models.
• Guido Aiassa studied Law at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, and did his Masters’ degree in corporate finance and capital markets at Universidad de San Andrés. Guido has vast experience as a corporate and financial lawyer. He also specializes in fintech, foreign exchange controls and compliance.
• Fernanda López Pujato graduated in Law from Rosario National University. She is a Partner at a DC Law, where she advices on corporate and comercial legal issues. Fernanda holds a Masters’ degree in Corporate Law at Universidad Austral. Fernanda is currently the teaching coordinator to the Program “Blockchain, Law and Business” at Universidad Austral and a invited Speaker at the D4T Program at UCC.
• Agustina Perez Comenale is a Lawyer and Notary Public graduated from the University of Montevideo (UM), Uruguay. Agustina currently directs the Notary and Real Estate Department of the Olivera Law Firm. She took postgraduate courses (Postgraduate in Notarial Update) and Magister (L.L.M with Thesis on Smart Legal Contracts) at UM. Agustina is also a participant in the Fellowship program investigating Smart Legal Contract of the ADR / ODR platform based on Blockchain: Kleros. Agustina is a Member of the Commercial Law Commission and the Computer Law and New Technologies Commission of the Uruguayan Notaries Association and a Member of Legal Hackers Montevideo.
